5th day of Work

5th Day of work makes me feels, tired, happy and frustrated…. I remember DR Yam’s told me, the outside world is cruel… Some fellow will treat you nice, others will treat you bad like my ex OM Johnny Lai Fcuk with him….. What goes around comes around. This world, one day we praise the person, another day we criticise them but actually I am happy to be met up with Joe Sim JH Security. What will happen if that day I never bought any Straits TIMES? i WONT get a chance to be employed at my new work place and get to know Joe right?….

I knew some residents now… there’s a Primary6 Malay boy who stays at Block 15 and is very friendly… Everytime comes to me and ask personal questions, like “How long have u worked?”, where u stay? I wonder who is his parents?

Yeah, Tian Chua sms me again about the sodomy case but i wont reveal it out…. secret… under PKR Secrets Act.

Time to sleep now, till next time.

My Dad- In Loving Memories

My Dad

How will you be remembered?
Only by the memories you leave behind.
Your memories will be as vivid and colourful as a young man quest.

Legends will be told about you,Dad,
When i needed help, you were there.
Your shoulder was a place where i could rest my head.
A harbour amid stormy seas.

How are you now?
Thirteen years have gone so fast.
Do you look down upon us?
Do you miss us as we long for you..

Seven Road Maps for LIFE… Part2

You are RESPONSIBLE to what happens to yourself.

-Nobody else will be or dare to take responsibilty.

-You cannot change what you do not know or acknowledge.

-You can choose to response in any way you want to the people and system around you but you cannot choose the consequences that will come along with it.

-You can choose to play a role that is acceptable to you and others around you.

“There are 3 kinds of people around the world, those who watch thing happens, those who makes things happens and those who wandered what happened?”

Seven Road Maps for LIFE… Part1

“There are no short cuts to any place worth going”

“We live in an age where unnecessary things are our only necessities”

You either buy it or you flung it.

-BUY the idea that there is a time in your life that you need to realise that you are in charge and you take full responsibility for who you are and what you do.

-Buy the need to know the system of life that makes you tick and start to work at it.

-You need to know that there are systems working in the world today and that is growing young adults, you need to know them and get round them to be successful

     Children and Adolescents

Even though children may not understand the meaning of death until they are three or four years old, they feel the loss of close relatives in much the same way as adults. It is clear that even from infancy children grieve and feel great distress.

However they have a different experience of time from that of adults and may go through the stages of mourning quite rapidly. Preschool children usually see death as temporary and reversible – a belief reinforced by cartoon characters who “die” and “come to life again”. In their early school years children may feel responsible for the death of a close relatives and so may need to be reassured.

Young people may not speak of fear of adding extra burdens to grown-ups around them. The grief of children and adolescents, and their need for mourning. Should not be overlooked when a member of the family has died. They should usually, for instance be included in the funeral arrangements.

Once children accept the death they are likely to display their feelings of sadness. The relatives should spend as much times as possible with the child making it clear that the child has permission to show his or her feeling openly or freely.

Symptoms of Depression

  • Persistent sadness or feeling down or gloomy
  • A loss of interest in activities previously enjoyed, such as socializing with friends and family, most of the day, nearly every day.
  • Loss of appetite and loss of weight.
  • Insomnia. For some people, on the contrary, they find that they are sleeping more than normal.
  • Feeling restless and agitated more easily.
  • Feeling tired and having little energy.
  • Unable to concentrate and think clearly and thereby becoming indecisive.
  • Feeling of worthlessness and quilt
  • Recurrent thoughts of death
  • YOU ARE NOT TO BLAME?
The common misconception is that depression is a moral weakness or a character flaw. Many a time, people have told depressed people to just ‘snap out of it’. Depression is a medical illness with biological roots. It cannot be wiled or wished away.

    ————————————

Studies have also suggested some biological component in depression. It may be associated with having too little or too much chemical in the brain. Certain medications have mood altering properties. Antidepressant medication act by altering and normalizing the biochemical imbalances in the brain.

Life events such as loss of job, retirement, divorce, death of a loved one or moving to a new house can precipitate a depressive illness. Social circumstances also play a part. If we are alone, have few or no friends, suffer from a chronic illness, them we may be more vulnerable to depression.

People with life threatening or long-term physical illness such as cancer, stroke, arthritis or heart disease are also more vulnerable to depression.

Personality may also play a part in depression. Some of us are more vulnerable than others because of the individual make-up or early life experiences.

Every often, a combination of genetic, psychological and environmental factors is involved in the onset of depression.

The good news is that whatever the cause, depression is treatable.

LIVING WITH A DEPRESSED PERSON – HOW CAN YOU HELP?

  • Get him to see a doctor so that he can be diagnosed and treated.
  • Offer emotional support. Spend time and encourage him to open up. Offer a listening ear.
  • Encourage him to continue with treatment. Reassure him that he will get better.
  • If the depressed person has mentioned not wanting to live or suicide, it is important to tell his therapist.

SAF Captain admits exposing himself in School

A Singapore Armed Forces captain admitted yesterday to trespassing a school and indecently exposing himself to girls there.

Ong Chun Kiat, 27, pleaded guilty to one count of criminal trespass and two of insulting the modesty of women in the school on Aug 12, 2005. He had entered the school premises that day without a legitimate reason and did not report his presence to school staff, The Straits Times reported today.

He went into the men’s toilets near a ground floor canteen and positioned himself at the first urinal, which is visible from the entrance to the women’s toilet. There, Ong pulled down to his thighs his trousers and underwear, exposing his behind to a female student on her way to the women’s toilets.

A few minutes later, he turned around and exposed himself to a girl leaving the women’s toilets. Shocked, the two girls hid in the toilets for a few minutes. When they came out, Ong had left.

However, he returned to the school on Aug 23 and exposed himself to another girl, who made a police report.

In mitigation, Ong’s lawyer said he had an impeccable record and was struggling from depression at the time of the offences because of a failed relationship. Ong is currently undergoing counselling.

The case has been adjourned to June 7.

    Too much stress in SAF???

    NATION’S SHAME

    NATIONAL SHAME

    NEW!
The media in Singapore sank to a new low. In the 2007 Freedom of the Press Survey conducted by Freedom House, Straits Times‘ and colleagues’ international ranking dropped from 146th to 154th, alongside Afghanistan, Djibouti, and Gabon.

In 1990 there were 88,000 cases seeking help of mental professionals. This figure escalated to 147,000 in 1998. In 1990 only 8.4% of Singaporeans suffered from neurotic disorders such as anxiety and depression. In 1998 16.6% succumbed to these disorders. This problem continues as more people are being diagnosed with mental disorders due to financial woes.

In 1999, nearly 2,000 children did not attend school because their parents could not afford it. The estimate was greater for the recent years.

    A PriceWaterHouseCoopers
report in 2006 found that the “average Singapore household is one of the most indebted in the world.” At 174% of the personal disposable income, the household debt in Singapore surpasses that of even Britain (116%), Japan (100%) and the United States (90%).

In Nov 2003, Mrs Lee Kuan Yew suffered a stroke in London,
the Minister Mentor called Singapore Airlines to fly his wife home within 48 hours.
The airline converted the plane into a flying hospital replete with doctors, nurses and airline officials and promptly whisked Mrs Lee back to Singapore.
In 2006, a nurse was prosecuted for wrongly administering a drug to an elderly resident in a welfare home which resulted in his death. The coroner, however, came to her defence because she was single-handedly
    looking after 180 patients.
